I usually get all of my stuff set out right after Thanksgiving. Maybe that Saturday or Sunday. This year though I haven't put them up yet.

Well usually we put them up right after Thanksgiving but this year we had some of the lights up a little sooner. I think you should put them up when you feel like it is the right time for you as well as taking them down when you want. Christmas is the best time of year so why not enjoy every moment of it that you can. Happy Holidays!

I like the December 1 as well. There's something about putting them up in November (associated with Thanskgiving) that just doesn't seem right.

Martha Stewart was on with Conan O'Brien, and she noted that most people choose December 1 as the time to do the lights (so if Martha Stewart condones it is has to be appropriate :) ).

Depends on your availability. If you have a few things to put out, after Thanksgiving Day is fine. But if you are transforming your home into a Winter Wonderland, the 1st-15th, will work great for you.

The week after Thanksgiving always works for me.

This is the time of year my wife quits yelling at me for leaving them up from the year before !

I think after Thanksgiving is OK. And take them down no later than New Years Day.
