I'm really curious now.

I just saw a picture of "sacred Mormon underwear".

And here is a website about it.

Do any Mormons just buy a three-pack of Fruit of the Looms or Jockey for Hers or whatever?

Sorry if it sounds offensive, but I'd love to hear what some real LDS members think.

I guess I just don't understand what's so wrong with a pair of Just My Size briefs. But I'm learning something tonight, yes I am. Thank you for the serious answers.

Worthy adult members who have attended the temple wear the garment. It is white to symbolize purity. It is modest in length to help ensure modesty in dress and behavior. It has much more symbolism than this, but it is only important to note that it all points to Jesus Christ, our Savior. It is an inward sign of the covenants that we have made with God, much like a priest, pastor, or other religious leader may wear some type of special clothing to distinguish him as a "man of God."

I find it odd that if member of the church were to wear provocative undergarments, no one would even care, however since we choose to wear something modest and sacred, that reminds us of our covenants with Christ, they become the object of ridicule.

Only LDS members who have received their endowments wear garments, you must hold a temple recommend to buy them from church operated centers... they are specially made, you cannot just go buy them at wal-mart or wherever. They are sacred, very sacred, and it saddens me that people will post the pictures of them...
And yes, we are encouraged to wear them all the time (except for obvious times when they need to be off of course, I call them the three "S"s.)

Yes, many LDS people wear this clothing, they are called "garments." All LDS folks who are sincere believers and attend the Temple wear these under garments. This is regardless of where they live... South America, Europe, and everywhere in the US.

They don't like to talk about it alot because they consider this sacred and don't like how people use this to make fun of them.

They are not secret, they are sacred. They are not magic, they have a spiritual purpose.

I am not a Mormon, but the answer is that Temple Mormons do. That limits it down to about 8% of all Mormons being worthy enough to gain access there.

It's rather simple - nothing "magic" or anything like that. Just as some Jews wear hats to remind them of God, we too wear something to act as a daily reminder of our faith and the promises we've made to follow it. Essentially it is symbolic, they cover our bodies just like Christ's atonement can cover our sins.

probbaly the LDS Utah mormons... I doubt the MIssiouri ones do this.. but I could be wrong.. both are pretty eccentric but the mIssouri ones less so

I believe they used to take quite a razzing in the military about the underwear and finally got some exceptions about it..... samart money says Jesus and the apostles DID NOT wear magic underwear

they also have a really cool secret handshake in the temple.. to practice so God will recongnize them after they die... you know... the God who sees into hearts need a handshake... ya know... .well... I guess not... ok

Do we wear it? Perhaps we do. I'm sorry, but the topic is sacred and should not be discussed further outside of the temples. I hope you understand.

There's no such thing as a normal Mormon.
