i have an idea, but i'd like to hear what everyone else has to say. here's my interpretation:

kiss- lips only
french kiss- tongue kiss (1)
making out- tongue and lip, many times

minimum time? idk.. whatever is long, maybe half an hour

Making out includes rubbing, petting, licking and sucking. Kind of like foreplay without copulation.
