Yes it can kill you. If you drink too much water it floods your tissues in your body and kills off the cells. 8 glasses of water per day is the recommended intake for hydration of your body and to keep flushing out your kidneys.

Of course you can get too much water. You can upset your electrolyte balance.
http://www.merricks.com/tech_elecwaterbal.html
Electrolyte solutions should be formulated for their ability to enhance water absorption, water retention and to reduce acidosis. Since diarrhea can have a serious effect on bacterial populations in the digestive tract, inclusion of specific direct-fed microbials favors conditions for growth of beneficial bacteria and reestablishment of a normal intestinal environment.
Water is the most important nutrient for sustaining life. Water corrects dehydration and acts as a solvent for electrolytes.
By overloading the system with water, you risk the possible shut down of some organs. Upsetting the electroylte balance that allows for the maintanence of the body, you can get into serious trouble. This is how many anorexics get into trouble, by drinking water when they should be eating. Upsetting the electrolyte balance for any length of time can cause fine hair to grow on the face, the arms (the area where NO hair usually grows) and over the rest of the body). These are just a few of the "minor" symptoms that show an upset electrolyte imbalace.

It is actually possible to drown, by drinking too much water, but the only known cases, are when the people had the water forced down them, I don't think you could drink enough to kill yourself, and it would take a lot to harm you, but it is possible

Yes. Drinking too much water can kill you. When you drink too much water, the cells in your body will swell, including the cells inside your brain. The condition is called hyponatremia and water intoxication. When the swollen cells of your brain get pushed against the inside of your skull, you will have seizures and can die from the damage.

Sometimes, when you drink water to extremes, it will change the electrolyte balance in your body, causing blurred vision, muscle cramps, confused thinking. But, it would have to be alot of water, not just normal drinking. Good Luck!!

Yes. Some fraternities use it as a form of hazing where a person must drink massive amounts of water in a short time, and some of the guys have died.

I'm pretty sure it's impossible to drink so much water you harm yourself, you'd throw up long before any harm would come to you.

Yes if you are very hot, and drink water too fast, it can cool you down too fast and kill you. My friend died that way when he was 14.
