That really depends on where you are in your life. Earlier this year I got out a a VERY long term relationship with the mother of my daughter. We had been together for almost 4 years, and our daughter is 3 now.
While there are times that I miss havin someone to spend time with and hang out with, as more than just friends, I know that I am not ready to be with anyone at the moment. Half of my time, every other week, I have my daughter and there is nothing else that I would rather do fo rthat week. And my weeks alone I see friends, work around my appartment, and just enjoy the "me" time.
But eventually I will be ready and want to be in another relationship, so one being "better" than another really comes down to what it is that you want at that point in your life.

This depends on your personal taste, do you want to live alone as a single in the future or do you want to live with someone you love in the future?
By just comparing being in a relationship and being single, you can come up with many pros and cons.
I myself have not been in a relationship before, so I can't give a very good answer. But this is my 5 cents.
To me, it is really up to you.

You don't mess about do you?
The first answer is that it depends on the individual, and their stage in life.
For example, if you are 1 day old, it is much better to be in a relationship with mum than to be alone. Goes without saying.
I know I am being a bit literal about it and silly here. But please take my point.
The second answer is that we are all animals and our minds and bodies are built to have a relationship with the opposite sex that hopefully results in offspring who live happy, successful and contented lives.
So, if you can manage to overcome the misery of not meeting your biological and psychological imperatives then you can get away with not being in a relationship. Otherwise, once you have 'gotten over' past F**k-ups you are likely to find yourself seeking love once more. You might as well make a go of it.

At this point in my life, having a relationship is like adding another load. I don't have the time or the energy. Anyway, it's not like it's a big deal though, people can make themselves available at any time. Relationship status changes throughout life. Nothing to analyze. One is not better than another. Some prefer being independent and alone because they have more important things to do with their life than committing it to somebody else.

Good relationship, then single, but anything is better than a bad relationship.

Either, neither ............both. There are + and -'s to both.
When you are single you are in charge of your own time, money, space and schedule. It can get lonely.
When you are in a relationship you have companionship, someone to share expenses and experiences. There is the physical touch side of it. Someone you can depend on.
What is is important is to be happy each in every day ,no matter what your circumstances. Life can change in an instant. The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence.
Be grateful for what you have and who you have to share it with.

Single, definitely. It's much more rewarding than a relationship. You can go anywhere, do anything, and see anyone without anyone else's approval. Also, you're not distracted from your commitments, hobbies, or friends. I intend to stay single as long as the sun shines.

Only if it is a good relationship. You need companionship, you need someone to share your emotions with. Coming home to an empty house day after day is bad for you. Studies have shown that people in relationships have a better life and will leave longer,

I thought I would die if I were alone but I have not seen my mates face since a week. Talked on the phone last night. I am weaning my self from him. I feel a lot better now. Hope to find someone special someday but not looking.
