You need to find an agency and they will have tons of paperwork for you to do. (this is for international , but basically the same for within the US too) You will have to have your fingerprints taken from INS and a certian form goes with that, then they will do a homestudy with your family and ask lots of different questions. You will have to wait for all of your paper work to go through, and for them to call you with a child. You can take that child or turn it down and wait again for another. Im sure I missed some steps, but it is a long process, but Im sure its worth it. I had researched it over a year ago.

I think it's great that you want to adopt, You would have to contact your local social services and see what you have too do to get a child. I know that you have to have a certain amount of money and have your house in a certain order. Beat of luck too you.

There are several adoption websights. Adopting a teenager is fairly easy.

Anyway, check with your local adoption shelter, they'll have scads of advice.
