good luck. She got on the counter and chewed it up. I would never hurt her but I wanted that bone.

If it was a dog, you could sternly scold it.

The thing with cats though, is that they dont care when we get mad at em, so you could scold her, but she'll likley ignore you.

DON'T punish your cat. Unlike dogs, cats have difficulty making the association between a bad deed and a punishment. In fact, studies have shown that, after about ten seconds are up since the cat's misbehavior, the chances of it making the association are very low. So if you want to punish a cat, do it quickly, very quickly. And of course, not too much, you don't want to physically hurt it.

As for the bone, it will not bring you good luck. It's just a bone, like any other bone except it happens to have that shape. Fun for pulling apart and seeing who gets the bottom, but entirely useless when it comes to rolling double sixes or winning the lottery.

Cooked bones are the ones that splinter so they should never be available to a cat.

I don't know if you are serious about "punishment" because she couldn't possibly understand why she was being punished. Our cats teach us many things - now you know that the bone from the Christmas turkey must be put safely in a cupboard to dry out. And may your wish come true! Merry Christmas!

First of all, punishments meted out to pets have to be given as soon as you see them commit the offence--they learn mostly by association (i myself kind of learn more like a dog than like a human) so you have to get at them right after they do it. Since you've had time to write this & wait for answers, it's too late to punish her.

Secondly, whereas punishing a dog might teach them a lesson, cats are notorious for their stubbornness & independence. The basic personality/attitude of cats in general means that even if you do punish her, she is highly unlikely to give a ****. She'll most likely disregard the punishment, sulk & do it again.

No, the entire body went contained in the rubbish. some 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, i'd opt for to take the body decrease back to the food market and tell them the turkey change into undesirable, and that i'd like a repayment. I knew a lady who did that once, and they quite gave her the money decrease back.

Your bad... you should have put it where the cat couldn't get it. Punishing her will do no good-- she won;t understand. Perhaps her "consequence" is that she will not share in the good luck you might have had....

Don't punish the cat. Punish yourself for not placing the wishbone where she wouldn't be tempted. On a napkin in the cupboard, for example.

Cats aren't like people. They don't know why your punishing them, unless it's moments after the deed is done. Besides, your kitty doesn't know any better.

Yes they are funny little guys. They really dont care if your mad or not. My cat when I get mad at him just keeps turning his back to me for days at a time. I should thank God that's all he does to me. He pees on my husbands clothes if he leaves them on the floor if he's mad at my husband.
