i once downloaded about 1000 files (very stupid idea dont do it!) from limewire, and the worst thing that happened to me was that it got swarmed and i had to reinstall it. been usin it for over a year and havent gotten caught..

and sharing files just means downloading em

Well the odds of getting caught are pretty rare. you have about a 1 in 500,000 chance of getting caught. Even if you do get caught the legal team against you has to prove you aquired the files illegally which is even more rare. the RIAA is basically using scare tactics to try to stop you from using the services. However after doing some research and tests i have found you have a 1 in 3 chance of getting a virus or spyware by downloading music or software from limewire and other similar services. so if you dont mid paying 200 bucks to get viri and spyware removed from you pc have fun

Share means upload to other users. That is the only reason such programs can function.

You're not going to get caught unless you share a MASSIVE amount of files.
