All General Surgeons! What are the requirements to become a General Surgeon?

Firstly --- you need to have an MD degree. After attaining that...and doing a year of interning in an accredited hospital....you apply to for admission to the surgery program. If you are accepted it is anywhere from three to five years ... depending upon the university and the hospitals associated with it.
