Sorry honey, I know it is hard for you, but this is something your father has to do on his own.
You can only tell him how you feel and hope that what you say might help him sway...

Try being supportive of him. Let him know that he can stop, if he really wants to. Try telling him that you care about him, & that you wouldn't want anything to happen to him, but if he carries on at this rate, then something will happen. Just let him know you care & be supportive of him. Try getting him into a better sort of habit/hobby instead of chewing tobacco.

Keep reminding him to pay his life insurance policy premiums so that when he dies you won't be out on the street and penniless. Keep asking him if he has adequate health care coverage for when he gets cancer so that you guys don't have millions of dollars of debt. Remind him that most insurance companies won't pay after the initial $100,000 - $200,000. Also, ask him if he's putting as money in your college fund as he's spending on tobacco. These should at least get him thinking that maybe he's being a little selfish. He has kids, and he should be more responisble.

My dad does the same thing, he says that my mother put him through pain that why he does tobacco. Every night i throw it in the trash but he cant stop. All i do is support him for trying to stop and that what you should do encourage him to stop.

Any habit is hard to break. He might not have the inner strength to commit to quitting. some people need things to help them cope with life... this might be his... He controls the situation , no one else... He is not ready to do so even tho he knows the possibilities.... Some people think they are immune to such things happeniing to them, others don't care and some just can't commit... He might be one of these people. He loves you, but his habit has a greater hold over him..

You can't make him stop, honey. You can't make anyone stop doing anything, especially an addictive thing like chew. Ranks right up there with cigarettes.

You can nag him about it and he may eventually stop doing it around you, but he probably won't stop.

It's a legitimate addiction, and nothing anyone says can make him stop. Your best bet is to convince him to seek professional help in quitting, whether through medicine, hypnosis, or some other means.

this is beyond your control. pray or swing chickens
but it's his choice . . . you are a very kind and
considerate person with much love for your father. tell him often how much you love him and make the best decisions for you in your life.
