I was talking with someone in an instant message online, and I asked him a question. He thought he told me the answer before, and I said I don't believe he ever told me. Then he asks me if I'm losing my memory. I calmly stated that what he said was really rude. He said it wasn't, and then he blocked me. Now here's the question......was asking me if i'm losing my memory rude, or am I being too sensitive by telling him it was rude?

I think you are a tad on the touchy side. I wouldn't say that to an old person though - then it would be rude.

Your talking about instant messaging. It's much easier to take something the wrong way when all you are doing is reading quick sentences. What he said sounds a little rude, it seems like you may have overreacted by telling him he was 'really rude' and then he overreacted by blocking you. Who knows how he meant it if it was through messaging.

In "real" life, I think it is a bit rude to ask someone that. It just implies that not only are you definitely wrong but you also have a 'problem'. It's much nicer to say, "Oh, I could have sworn I told you" and just repeat it.

When he asked if I was losing my memory, I would have said, "you've ask me that before - are you perhaps losing yours?" Whether or not it was rude would depend on the tone and manner it was asked. It probably was rude and he sounds like he might be an impatient person so who needs it?

You can tell by the tone of their voice... But on the internet you can tell by the way they were acting before and after he said that. U get me? well I dont think it's rude to ask that but it's really a personal question. if u get offended then he was rude but if not then it wasnt rude.

What was your question again? I forgot, sorry

Ok, sorry, bad joke. I think you both went waaaay too far over nothing...although he gets the rudeness prize by blocking you.

yes a little bit, depends on the manner of how they asked the question... but I think the way he told it to you was considering he blocked you for it just for you saying the you thought it was...

No, you're not rude, he should have just told you again and not worried about it. He did, he didn't, who cares. He doesn't need to make a federal case out of it.

It's rude, if he was trying to imply something. Does he think you've been smoking weed, or aging rapidly?
