the natural oils on your skin break the surface tension of the carbon dioxide bubbles, causing them to pop. this works especially well if you overfill a glass and want to keep it from overflowing. works with any carbonated beverage, including beer :)

U decrease the tension and when u pop the bubble u are releasing carbon dioxide

The oil on your fingers breks the walls of the bubbles that heretofor had to oil near or in them.
