According the the Mayan calender....?

Well according to that it's the end of the age of man, and the start of the next age.

the Mayan calender is set up in ages which are like 120,000 years or so...

Well the current age (the age of man) ends in 2012....

Lot of people think that's the end of the world....

Realy all it means according to the Mayans is there is big change, if anything.

The next age could be the age of space exploration for all we know....lol......

people are freaking out over nothing..... one end is another beginning

Supposedly, the end of time. But this is not correct. It is the end of the Mayan calendar......but will be the beginning of a new calendar. Simply put, 2012 will see the ushering in of a new era... The Mayans beleived that the underworld was located in space where there is a dark region devoid of stars - our planet is to line up with that dark region on Dec 23, 2012. this will be the end of that era and the beginning of a new one.

The end of the Mayan calendar. This could mean the distruction of most of the worlds population or the Mayan didn't know how to count past 2012.:) I hope it's the second possibility

I read in a book called 'Bible Code II' that this is the year that the world will end. If you are into reading about the apocolypse theories, this is a great book to check out. Essentially, it states that a famous Israeli mathematician found a code in the Torah. This code was used in a computer program to perform different searches in the Torah and produced a number of results that have a bearing on present times. Very interesting, and depressing all at once.

Um i believe according to the myans the world is supposed to come to an end on Dec 23rd, 2012. Dont know WHY it is coming to an end, just know that the myans predicted it. They also predicted an eclispe in 1992, which is not far from the ending date, so they might be on to something. With this, a supervolcano that is supposed to kill all existance, earthquakes due, global warming, terrorists getting their hands on nuclear weapons, the supposed 2nd coming of jesus, etc, i dont think humans have much longer on this earth.

Why would a stone age, barely literate, astronomy worshipping people from the dawn of time know anything about the future, while we don't? Bah!
