Jesus says that all that he describes (his return, signs in the sun, moon, wars, stars, etc.) will occur within the lifetime of his listeners. He purposely defines their generation and NOT a future one. Considering that NONE of those signs took place during the resurrection and that he uses the term of “Heaven and earth shall pass away”, Clearly Jesus is prophesizing that nearly 2,000 years ago Armageddon SHOULD have occurred. Luke 21:25-33

I asked this question to a jehoivus witness (however its spelt) and they said that saten had another 10,000 years ruling earth and then god would come down and banish him to a prison af sorts, thats when life on earth is supposed to end, the dead willl rise (not in zombie style, lol.) and their souls will be judged, along with the 'living'. the bad will get cast to hell and the 'good' will have new lives on earth where there is no death or desiese and will be ruled over by jesus. Thats why its called 'judgement day'.
Dont really believe this, because apparently if you dont believe in the jehovus wittness way of life you will defo go hell.
Dont believe ANYTHING that jehovus witness say, come to think of it! :)

Even Jesus Himself didn't know when His return was scheduled (Matthew 24:36), and that many will be asking the same question that you have (2 Peter 3:4).
God knows what He is doing, and in His mercy does not one anyone to be lost. With Him, ". . . a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day." Try reading 2 Peter 3:8 -10--and also what Jesus Himself had to say on the matter in Matthew 24:36-44.
The main thing is, are you in a right relationship with God? If so, the return of Jesus should not be something terrifying, but just the opposite.

There are a lot of factors which we may not be completely aware of.
All possible human governments must be fully tested as to their fitness to rule. Perhaps the "exam" in this respect might be whether we can or cannot avoid the destruction of our environment. If God steps in now, the case might be made (rightly or wrongly) that we didn't have time to prove whether we could look after ourselves or not. At the moment, there is still hope (even if it's a little slim) that we can avoid environmental or nuclear catastrophy. It may have to become obvious that environmental destruction is inevitable no matter what we do before God steps in to set things straight.
Also, people have to know about God's Kingdom and what it will do. They need the power of genuine choice over the benefits of this world versus the benefits of God's Kingdom. This would take a major, world-wide campaign in which teachers are sent out to show from the Bible why they would be better off coming under the care of God's Kingdom. At the moment, many millions of people are undecided. God will not bring the world of mankind to destruction until they make up their mind, although the waverers may be forced to make their minds up.
As I said at the start, their may be other reasons why God hasn't unleashed armageddon yet. Have a look at this web site and see if you can get information to satisfy you.

The bible states about Armageddon, "the end of times will come soon" According to the Bible the earth is like what 6-7 thousand years old, so it was assumed that earth was about 4-5 thousand years old when that was written.
So you would think "soon" would have been way before now.
The earth is now 150% older than it was when that was written according to the bible

Probably because if Armageddon came and went that would mean that we are currently in hell, that we weren't of the chosen few.
Not a happy thought, really, so we keep hoping it didn't happen.
We also keep hoping that if it didn't happen and it is around the corner, that we'll have exited with a good life record attached to our souls and that we don't have to go out in the sweeping mess that will be Armageddon.

One of the best books I've read on Armageddon is Kippur - the Final Judgment: Apocalyptic Secrets of the Hebrew Sanctuary. It describes about each final phase of prophecy by reviewing earth's history and Biblical accounts.
You don't have to wait for Armageddon, we're on its final phase according to this book. The books of Daniel and Revelation are revealed that we're on our final stretch.

I'm not sure where you got this idea from, but you got it wrong.
However, I don't think any sane person is "waiting for" Armageddon. We are just getting on with our lives. As my father confessor said once: "What does it matter to you whether your end comes first or the end of the world comes first? The outcome is the same."

Is coming....
2 Peter 3:9 Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.
2 Timothy 2:24-26 But a slave of the Lord does not need to fight, but needs to be gentle toward all, qualified to teach, keeping himself restrained under evil, instructing with mildness those not favorably disposed; as perhaps God may give them repentance leading to an accurate knowledge of truth, and they may come back to their proper senses out from the snare of the Devil, seeing that they have been caught alive by him for the will of that one.

Okay, it says in the Bible that "It will occur during the lifetime of his listeners". None of us were actually there to listen, but we can read what Jesus said. So we are "listening". Understand?
