It's not a religion in the sense of an organized religion like Methodist, Catholic, Baptist... its a religion only in the definition of "demonstration of faith"

The fact that true christianity means that a person can enter into a relationship with Christ makes it a relationship more than a dry religion. This is what makes it different to other religions. Jesus conquered death and is alive today. As a christian we can be filled with the Holy Spirit and commune with God as His children and friends.

sometimes Christians talk about their faith as "relationship" not "religion".
they are trying to distinguish themselves from other religions that do not teach or promote a personal, living, intimate relationship with God and Jesus Christ.
so really Christianity is a "religion" but many people do not understand the "relationship" which is absolutely fundamental in the faith.
i say it myself : take all the religion of the world and chuck it into the swamp... you must have a relationship with God...
"religion" is a turn off to many because it conjures up images of empty rituals, boring sermons, wearisome duties, and hypocritical leaders ...
Christianity is exciting, fulfilling, challenging... it is AWESOME - like a good relationship with a boyfriend or girlfriend...
god bless!!

CHRISTIANITY IS A FAITH AND IT WILL NEVER BE A RELIGION.
Religion implies having to follow rules. I don't have to follow rules, we are recieved by God through faith that our sins are forgiven.
Christianity has mistakenly been defined and described as a religion in which morality and belief system in correspondence to the Book are regarded as the basis of the role-playing and problem-solving of the Christian life. This is not true. Christianity is Christ.

Christianity is a religion. The copout that 'its a relationship, not a religion' makes the critical assumption that it must be either one or the other.

"Christianity" is a religion. But there are a TON of people, of different denominations call themselves "Christians" - personally I call myself a Christian - litterally translated "Christ follower" that's what I am, and my faith is not a "religion" it's a relationship with the all powerful, all knowing, loving Jesus Christ.

This is hardly legit as it is a false statement asking for Christians to refute it as such. I shall: Believers in Jesus Christ as our High Priest and the sacrificial Lamb of God whose blood was shed to take away the sins of the whole world by faith in Him, were first called Christians (disciples of Christ) at Antioch. It's the world's greatest love story ever told, all for sinners like you and me. I encourage all who have not seen the "Passion Play" in Eureka Springs, AR to go see it. Otherwise read about it in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Our Lord and Saviour was the smartest, most perfect, sinless, most patient, loving, forgiving, sin-hating preacher ever walked this earth and thousands of years later, satan still can't silence the message of JESUS!
