There is no good way, or best way.... especially if you were a good employee.

Write a standard resignation letter, put it in an enveloope, then hand-deliver it to your manager. Remember to keep the letter simple and to the point. You do NOT want to go into details on why... but you do want to specify when your last day will be. Do not write or say anything negative in your remaining days/hours.

Do not be surprised if you immediately get escourted out of the building. Some businesses make it their standard practice to require 2 week notice, but once turned in, they will immediately walk you out.

A letter of resignation, stating regrets, and being very polite & respectful. Offer to stay & train a replacement (if you can) and give at LEAST 2 weeks notice.
