A couple of years ago, a site was created where the consumer could check their credit once a year with each of the three bureaus at no charge and without affecting their score. The site was created to allow consumers to catch fraud early and keep on top of their credit reporting.

By visiting the link I've provided below, you will be able to view a thorough and detailed credit report. However, if you wish to know your score they will charge you around $8.

You will NOT get a free score at annualcreditreport.com. You will only get a free credit report. Don't mess around with those free score sites. Just pay 16 bucks for a credit report and a real FICO score at myfico.com. Although, if you want a "free" trial of their credit reporting service, they will give you a free score. Just remember to cancel within 30 days.

You can get your credit report for free now once a year at annualcreditreport.com (I think thats the site). As for your actual credit score you are probably going to have to pay to get that. I would go directly to one of the three major credit bureaus to get it though.
