My boyfriend of 5 months works until 8 at night between his 2 jobs so I only really see him on weekends. He lives 40 min from me. We have strong mutual feelings for each other. He is 30 I am 26. I have been really patient and accepting of the job situation but its hard b/c I miss him during the week. We talk everyday and he calls me all the time. I have never had to deal with a situation like this before. Sometimes I feel a little disconnected during the week but when we see each other it is sooo great. Everyone tells me that its not gonna hurt our relationship, but I get insecure at times. My boyfriend recently came to me and told me that he greatly appreciates that I understand and am not angry and that he knows that him working this 2nd job makes our time together limited. He also told me that he doesn't plan on keeping it long-term. Can someone give their opinion of my situation. I guess I am just missing him and worried that the distance may hurt our relationship.

40 mins ain't nothing. a little bit of insecurity is ok. don't be hounding every free minute he has. if he's working 2 jobs then he's obviously trying to make it somewhere. don't give him a hard time cuz that'll only push him away. just accept the fact that he's working. emotionally support him and he'll realize how wonderful you are. and always leave happy memories.

My boyfriend doesn't work two jobs, but the job that he does have takes up a lot of his afternoon. What I do whenever he isn't home and I am bored is I taught myself how to cook. Each night while he was at work I would try a different dish to make for dinner. Or I would watch the Food Network to try and pick up some tips or read a Food magazine. For me, it was all about finding a hobby. If you like reading then read a good book. If you like scrap-booking then start making a scrapbook. The possibilities are only limited to what you like to do. But my best advice to you is explore something that you might not of if he wasn't working. Hope this helps!
