I can't figure out what to get my brother for Christmas this year. It doesn't help that his birthday is only four days after Christmas. He likes sports, especially track and baseball. He plays electric guitar, likes nice clothes (but I don't know sizes), and likes hanging out with his friends. Ideas don't have to relate to any of these, but at least that gives you some idea of his interests.

Unfortunately I'm on a college budget so it can't be too expensive (I'm thinking about $20 each gift, or one big gift that I could give him in parts).

I think you are right to give him separate Christmas and birthday gifts. All the people I know who have birthdays near Christmas resent getting one gift for both occasions.

If you want to get him clothes, your mom will surely know what sizes he wears, so you could get him a nice outfit, like sweats or track pants or something. Come to think of it, your mom will probably know what kind of clothes he needs.

Since he's interested in music, you could get him some picks for his electric guitar (guitarists are always running out of those) or maybe a nice CD.

You can always do the whole gift card to one of the stores he likes shopping too like sporting goods or music store.

People say that gift cards aren't creative or thoughtful, but in reality, you are thinking of them by giving them something they'll use! (as long as you get him a gift card to somewhere he likes.)

I wish my relatives would give me gift cards rather than buying me clothes that I wouldn't wear...

Get him a date with a beautiful young 18 year old girl. He'll think he is really cool, and it won't cost you anything.
