have him write a letter to the hospital and also the maker of your moms medecine. Include ptroof of income. Maybe last years tax form and proof of unemployment. alot of medicine companies will supply medicine free or cheaper for those in need. I hospital will forgive debt (the bills) for people on low or no income or reduce it. If he has stacks of hospital bills. If he gets money from the Company the hospital will want to get paid but until than they may forgive it. I do not understand why your father can not get social security yet ? If he is waiting until he turns 72 to get more a month that is wrong. what he will lose these two years waiting is more than he will make up later.
He should also be able to get Medicare but I am not sure about your mother.
For the home is he has enough equity he could get a reverse mortgage. basically the bank pays them a bit every month and it gets tacked on to what they owe the bank when they die. The problem is if you can not pay the bank back when they pass away the bank gets the house and you lose it. So say your folks own a 100,000 home and have 50,000 in equity. the bank will say ok we will give you 40,000 and you are expected to live 10 years so we will give you 4,000 a year and you can live in the house also until you die. there fore in 10 years they pass and the bank either gets the original 50,000 plus the 40,000 and interest from you or they get the house and sale it and get their money back

like the first answer suggested it absolutely relies upon on the position you stay in case you you stay in a run down area of the city then your wealthy yet in case you stay in berverly hills then your no longer negative yet no longer wealthy (you don't want to fret about your mom and father funds) examine out it this way. My mom and father make $234,786 a 12 months we stay in a wealthy area of calgary we personal a cabbin a deliver 3 automobiles and flow on a visit or 2 each 12 months and we personal all of those and ought to nevertheless stay conveniently and satisfied so do not issue some human beings do not even earn $50,000 a 12 months

Consider looking into a reverse mortgage. This will pay your parent a lump sum for their home and allow them to stay in the home during their retirement. You have to follow this by a case by case basis. See an attorney and a mortgage broker who specialize in these things.
It is not fo everyone, but it may save the house and put the needed cash in their pockets.

Get in touch with their Dr. Get any Government help you can apply for and start now! I'm sure they're eligible for Medicaid and Dad for sure can get Medicare. Mom can get help with her diabetic supplies and meds--your local hospital should be able to help you with that. Most employers have to carry Worker's Comp. What state do you live in??

I don't know how much this will help but they can probably get Meals on Wheels, which will at least give them five hot lunches a week.
Can either of them do any handicrafts or other things to make money?
