Yes if you are eating them fresh its the cellular rupture that is giving you upset tummy. The same things that make you eyes waters when cutting onions. They will effect people in different ways.

The symptoms that you describe would fit with the commonly accepted symptoms of a food intolerance. The exact cause of food intolerances is not yet known. The symptoms can be variable in their severity and often occur with foods that appear commonly in a person's diet. The symptoms may also be present one day, and not the next, which may be the case with you and onions.

The best way to find out if it is the onion that's making you feel unwell is to exclude it from your diet as much as you are able and see if this reduces the frequency of your sensitivity symptoms. If you then find your symptoms disappear, try re-introducing onion in very small quantities after a month of excluding it. It is possible to lose your sensitivity to a food if you exclude it for long enough and then re-introduce it slowly and eat it in smaller quantities than before.

You may be allergic to the onion. Try the tuna without the onion and see what happens

Head - Swelling of the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, or throat; headache

Nose - Stuffy nose, runny nose (clear, thin discharge), sneezing

i am not sure if this is right, but judging it by taste, i think it is high acid, like orange juice. You might get a slight stomache ache but it isn't that bad. just dont eat too much at a time.
