Others will certainly answer your question better than I could. I still wanted to warn you:
Before applying for British nationality, you should first check if your original country has signed (as most European countries of the time did) the Strasbourg Convention of 6 May 1963. If it did, you still can acquire British citizenship, but will loose yours. As this convention states that, even though you can held a dual citizenship by birth, you can't acquire one.

You can`t apply for british nationality, there is no such thing.
There are 4 nationalities , Scottish, Irish, Welsh, and English.
A general misconception is that Britain covers the whole of the United Kingdom when Britain is in fact another name for England.

You need to apply first for indefinite leave to remain. I think you can do that now. I think you have to be here a minimum of four years, constant residency, to be able to apply for a passport. There is also a citizenship and language test involved.

Marriage does no longer something to revoke your 10 3 hundred and sixty 5 days ban. there is not any longer something combating you and your fiance from residing on your united states in case you quite choose to be along with her. Or from marrying her and residing interior the U. S. along with her on a based visa. you'll be able to desire to get married the next day yet whilst your spouse moved lower back to the united kingdom you does not have the skill to stay at the same time there till 2020. yet there is not any longer something combating you and your spouse from residing at the same time someplace else.
