Shock and Awe I believe was the promotional for this time round...(hehe-sry). There WERE WMD's, proof of that even goes back to 1980! I mean, are some people stupid, and just don't know that he gased Kurds...poof, trial and death by hanging now for that eh? (anyway)...AND Saddam Hussien used chemical weapon munitions against Iranian troops. So- I rest my PROVABLE case there.
It may have been better to not invade Iraq, I dunno, but the fact remains, he had WMD's which had to be moved quickly- which some suspect may be in the hands of Syria today.

After 9/11, administration officials were instructed to fit the facts to the theory-- Iraqi involvement. Bush said "Iraq" and "9/11" in the same sentence enough times that even he started to believe there was a connection. Stories that were blatantly false (yellowcake from Niger, aluminum tubes that could "only" be used to enrich uranium) kept circulating. Couple this with anti-arab fervor from 9/11 and the administration's ear held by hawks who believed that democracy in Iraq was essential and would be welcomed and you have the perfect storm of ignorance to lead us into the current quagmire. Not planning for the postwar didn't help, either.

The Democrats joined with Bush to take out Saddam, since they all believed he had WMDs.
Now, the Democrats have all surrendered except Hillary & Lieberman who are both standing tall with Bush.

The terrorist act towards the US (twin towers- plane crash). Iraqians in the Al-Qauida (sp?) did it, and Saddam was going to have weapons of mass destruction...so we searched for the weapons, Saddam, and the people who planned the twin tower attack.

I think this whole terrorist thing was invented by the US when I was in grade school. Im 27 now and remember learning our future threat was terrorists... IF WE KNEW THAT LONG AGO WHY ARE WE NOW TRYING TO FIX IT.. I think Bush is in on it!!
