The word "Liberal" used to mean open-minded to religion and culture?

What happened...it seems like liberals just want to tear down the values and moral fabric of Christianity...on which this country was founded .......That's not Liberal...that's fascist..

I won't say all, but a lot of Liberals hate America. It's almost like they are in bed with the terrorists to destroy the USA. Liberal politicians are always calling those who disagree with them 'names' just like they did on the playgrounds when they were in school. They whine to the point I'm tempted to give them some cheese. They are first to be critical but never offer any suggestions for change or correction. They have the public snowed with promises of better days, jobs, and paychecks. Oh yeah, did I mention the epidemic they have called lying?

I am an American and I will fight and die for my country. If it is so bad here then why not move away? I'm sure Mexico, Canada, Palestine, and Iraq have some good land deals!

In many countries "liberal", in politics, means a strong, and even ruthless, free enterprise system - in other words it would be considered to be the far right.
In the USA it means leaning slightly to the left, and wanting to break open many of what are considered to be moral values.
In Evangelical circles in Nortn America it means a leaning toward modernism: not being too strong on the inspiration of the Scriptures, it doesn't matter whether Jesus actually rose from the dead, etc.
In Europe, in Evangelical circles, it just means not being too strict on Bible interpretation, being open minded, but does not mean a denial of the inspiration of the Bible.
In canada it is the name of a political party that is pretty conservative, but with some non-conservative members, and sometimes can make alliances with our more socialistic party (whenin a minority government situation). So you can understand why I don't use the word "liberal" very much - I never know just how it will be understood.

Yes, as time has gone by the meaning has changed. Now the one's who call upon the name of Liberal are wanting to tear down our country. From taking God off the money, out of Schools, endowed by our creator...they want it ALL gone in the name of their God secular humanism

Oh, but they are open-minded to any religion or culture, just not the one they grew up with. So what that says is they hate their ancestors, which is the same as saying they hate themselves as they are nothing if not the genetic transmission of former times.
