John Barrymore. The poor guy had it bad. In his biography, "Goodnight Sweet Prince", his friends took him on a boat trip to get totally away from alcohol. Not one bottle was aboard. Not one drop in his carefully inspected luggage.
The next day they found him drunk again. He had drained a gallon of radiator water from the boat's engine, mixed with ALCOHOL in those days, and drank it in the engine room.
Diana Barrymore.... she and her husband were broke. They had 37 cents to their name, bought one last beer and split it. Next day he died sitting on the train.
Sorry, I only feel I can report stories on people who passed away long ago.
