A lot of the ones that I meat are so insecure that they put on some kind of act or the other extreme---they don't talk at all. What's up with that?

being a girl, i have to say... that you're right. a lot of the times girls will try to be someone they're not to get attention. and you're right, it's completely stupid and immature. no one wants to fall in love with someone, for them to turn around, and find that how they were percieved is not how they truly are. we should all be more confident being ourselves... not insecure being someone we're not.

Well, my boyfriend (he's 40) says "girl" is synonymous with "crazy." Of course he says I'm the least crazy girl he has dated, but that I'm still a little crazy : )
I've figured out that what he means by this is that I am more emotional than he is and I take things he says and make assumptions about them. I think it boils down to a communication difference in the sexes. He'd be happy if we never had any deep conversations and I always want more. Somewhere, there is a middle ground.
If it makes you feel any better, girls tend to get less crazy with age and maturity.

Men are lucky, your hormone levels stay pretty much the same, unless you fight or get aroused.
Us girls aren't so lucky. Our hormones levels change every other goddam day, and sometimes flucaute madly in the space of a few hours, hence the 'insanity' you all think we suffer from.
So no, in answer to your question, we are not insane, we just seem that way.

Some of us are insane - not all. The problem for us is that guys have all only encountered the ones that are insane so they immediately expect those of us who are not to actually be insane.
