well heres how it goes. i was dating this guy from another town he broke up with me b/c we didnt see each other that much. (which we did). i was really upset and hurt, i never wanted to talk to him again.
now he called me saying he missed me and wants to go out again. i sorta still liked him and i tole me 'close friend' and now shes going around the entire school and telling everyone that i still like him and that we are going out.
now id be fine with that if i DID like him but i dont.
and now we have a winter formal coming up and since shes been telling everyone that (espically the guys) now im afraid no guys are going to ask me to dance =[
what do i do ? this is so not how i pictured my winter formal going

A close friend wouldn't be saying things that aren't true.

First, tell your best friend to mind her own business. Next, find a close male friend to partner in the winter formal. He'll understand your situation if you explain everything to him. If you don't have a close male friend, then relate your situation to a male classmate from any of your classes. I'm sure someone will be kind enough to lend a helping hand this Christmas.

Make more friends within the males and that's how you can earn thier trust. It's a very bad situation but you need to talk to this person that is spreading the lie

Tell your friend that you don't have a date for the winter formal. Tell your other friends too.

be truth with this guy and your friend and tell him you dont like him. then spread the word that your not going out anymore.
