Be thankful your dad is trying to spare you sadness! Forget about the boyfriend as he'll grow up and get over it. If he really loves you, he will wait until your father thinks he has enough character and patience to pursue you and that he is worth being trusted. Your father was a young man himself once you know so he sees something in the boyfriend he doesn't want for a son-in-law or a father to his grand-kids.

Girl, if he cares enough about you then he will respect your Dad. If you try going behind your parnets back to make your man happy it will only get you into trouble. Have him wait it out until things die down.
