Eczema is really nasty. It's caused by an internal problem, not a surface irritation, so creams and lotions can only do so much.
You need to see a dermatologist and/or an allergist and see if you can stop the problem at the source. There's actually no cure for it, but you may be able to reduce the severity of the flare-ups.
For now, try dosing yourself with Benadryl for a few days, and use some of the really thick Eucerin cream. That may help until you get to see a doctor.
I hated my eczema, but it went away after a while. Good luck!

No u cant get rid of it. U need to see a dermatologist to get them to help u...my son has this condition and they gave him an excellent cream which helps which he needs to use for the rest of his life. He has had eczema since he was born and he is now 13 and it is getting worse as he gets older. Over the counter creams will not help with bad eczema.

It depends what cream you are using.
A few things that worked on my child's exzema when it got really bad were hydrocortisone 1% cream with Diprobase cream. In the bath, E45 oil worked well too, as it coated the skin with a layer of grease, which moisturised it, before I put the creams on.
These are the only products I know of, as I am in the UK. It depends where you live.
I found a forum which might be helpful to you..

I suggest treating it internally with all natural Optiflora and GLA Complex.
Optiflora: Two-product system includes Probiotic (Bifidus & Acidophilus...microflora) + Prebiotic (FOS...food source for microflora). Patented guaranteed delivery of 500 million microflora to intestines.
GLA Complex: it's a natural anti-inflammatory and very important for tissue healing.
Hope this is helpful and feel free to contact me with questions.

I found this really great eczema moisturizer called Dermarest thats made specifically for eczema. You can find it at K-mart. Apply daily and it should clear up in about a week.

UV light treatment .. or a cheaper alternative if you don't have insurance would be the tanning bed at a tanning salon. You wouldn't use it as often as those trying to get a tan but it should help.

I use Hydrophilic Ointment and it does a pretty good job. It is basically the base product that they use for making ointments. A dermatologist prescribed it for me.
