A Technical Knock-Out (TKO) occurs when one boxer causes the other boxer to drop to the mat three times, regardless of whether the fallen boxer is truly unconscious or "knocked out"
A Knock-Out (KO) occurs when one boxer causes the other boxer to drop to the mat due to being knocked unconscious and after the referee gives a 10-count, signifying the fallen boxer's inability to reasonably remain in the match.
The value of the TKO arises when a boxer reasonably outperforms the other, as evidenced by knocking them down (the ultimate victory result of a boxing match) despite being unable to knock them unconscious and obtain a true KO.

Some fights end without going to the scorecards. This is via KO (KnockOut) or a TKO(Technical KnockOut). A fighter wins via KO if he knockdowned an opponent and his opponent didn't stand-up for the ten count. A fighter wins via TKO if the fight is stopped by the referee or the doctor. The referee will stop a fight if he deems that the other fighter can't intelligently fight or defend himself anymore. A referee or a ringside doctor will also stop a fight if they perceive that an injury or a cut from a fighter is very bad or not in good shape to continue fighting. Provided that the cut was from a punch as declared by the referee.
Personally, there is nothing better than to knockout cold your opponent with a single punch. The feeling is great but very unfortunate for the other fighter. Just hope it does not give him a bad long term effect.

There is nothing necessarily wrong with a TKO. It is, after all, considered a KO in the boxer's record. When a boxer is beating someon badly enough that the KO seems inevitable, it's just as good; why take it further at that point? Enough people have been killed or brain damaged in the history of the sport. On the other hand, there have been occasions where the referee has seemed to be too quick to call the match. A TKO leaves some room for doubt, so it isn't as aesthetically pleasing, but it's all the same in the books.

A boxing match can be decided in several ways: by disqualification; by knockout (KO), when a fighter is knocked down and cannot get up within ten seconds; by technical knockout (TKO), when a fighter is judged physically unable to continue or does not answer the bell to begin a new round; or, at the end of all scheduled rounds, by decision, using the scores tallied by the ringside judges. Less commonly the scoring officials will declare the fight a draw (tie) or will rule “no contest” and stop the fight if both boxers are not competing adequately. The referee has the authority to count a fighter out or to declare them unfit to continue, often in consultation with a ringside physician.

TKO is called by the ref or in the rules. Some fights follow a "3 knockdown rule" meaning if a boxer was knockdowned 3 times in a same round, he loses via TKO. Some TKO wins are referee stoppage due to excessive blows, fighting unprotected, couldn't return a punch from a wild and finishing opponent, and cuts stoppage (if it is dealt from legitimate punch, if its from headbutt, it's on to the scorecards)
KO is not standing up between the referee count. Usually it's 10 but most fights now require the downed boxer to be up at 8.
Anyway, Pacquiao have lots of these and is sure fun to watch.

A TKO is a bout stopped by the ref. A knockout is for not being able to get up before the count is finished.

TKO is getting knocked down 4 times bfore a round ends and KO is not getting up before the 10 count...KO is a lot better!! and more fun to watch haha

a technical KO is when the referee or the corner man of the fighter who is getting beat or the fighter him self who is getting beat or the ring side Doctor stops the fight be for the fighter is counted .out by the referee on a 10 count.A KO is when the fighter is knocked unconscious or can not get up or does not respond to the referee by the count of 10.

TKO is when the boxer can no longer defend himself properly and a KO is when a boxer is knocked out and does not get up by the 10 count.

I would say TKO is a ref stopping then fight to STOP him from getting KOed or just being beat badly. KO is a ref stopping the fight BECAUSE the fighter got KOed. Its hard to word it
