Grass is 'usually' safe to eat, unless it has pesticides or other chemicals on it. Grass can make a cat vomit, and because of this some cats will eat grass if they feel sick. It is not exactly true that grass is good for cats, but it's not bad for them either.
Some pet stores will sell special grass for cats to chew on, although they are generally a different species than what is in your back yard.

As long as the grass hasn't recently been treated with chemicals like pesticide or fertilizer, it's OK for cats to eat it.
It tends to make them vomit, but this is their way of purging their systems when something upsets their digestion.
You can buy "Kitty Greens" at any pet store. This is similar to lawn grass & can be grown indoors, so your cat can always have a clean, fresh supply available.

It will probably make the cat vomit, but it is fine because it is the natural way they purge their digestive systems. Cats instinctively eat grass when they feel they need to throw up.

yes it is very good for them. Sometimes they will vomit after eating it but that is because the grass helps in their digestion. They sell dry cat foods (i believe its meow mix) that is called "outdoor formula". Its for indoor cats because they crave the grass and outdoor things. Also at pet stores they sell these little containers that you water and it grows grass for your pets to eat indoors.

both cats and dogs eat grass. and unless there is something harmful on the grass it will not hurt them. however, often they do throw up after eating it but that is ok. well ok for them to do not ok having to clean it up, but most pet owners have experienced worse.
