What are some tricks for putting heavy ornaments on a Christmas tree?

Any suggestions for strengthening the branch, or tools/attachments for supporting a heavy ornament?

either put the ornament further back on a branch or multiple branches or actually rest the ornament on the branch instead of hanging it

an artificial tree lets you bend the branches, and also putting the ornament farther back on a branch , or higher up, will reduce the stress on the branch.
