My bf & I have been together for over a year now. And I have two dogs, whom are my world. He knows that, but he is rough with them and when I ask him to stop. He argues with me & doesnt listen. He just says he is always rough with pets. I have asked him on numerous occasions to be nicer.
He also told me recently his feelings towards me have changed, four DIFFERENT times, then two night ago. Said that he didnt remember saying that. Even though he comforted me when I cried after he told me the first time. I dont get how ANYONE could forget breaking someones heart? He says he just has a bad memory.
His grandpa died recently and ever since we just dont get along. He doesnt seem to care about anything or anyone. I could ask 'do you still love me?' and he will say "dunno". He claims to do it to just prevent a fight.
But we rarely fought until lately. He just seems so cold and uncaring. And he doesnt respect or care about me.
I just don't know what to do anymore.

I know he isnt doing drugs. And I know I do love him. And we've talked about breaking up, in fact I have to admit I get frustrated and say I want to break up. I was in a really abusive relationship before, and I know I have some emotional scars from that. And Im just as much to blame for our problems as he is. I just wish I knew what was going on in his head.
He wasnt always this way, and in my heart I truly believe it does have something to do with the death of his grandpa.

then you need to think, who are you in love with, him now, or the him you met a year ago..... Its very important that you can establish the difference, could mean the rest of your life....if he truly loves you still, he will cool it, and listen and try, or he will just continue on his way of becoming his new self.
Maybe consider changing you to see how he likes it

I think you need to take a break. These are serious warning signs. Either his mental health has deteriorated, (maybe due to the stress of losing a loved one?) or he is using drugs or he is deliberately trying to hurt you so that the responsibility for breaking up goes to you. Either way, I would get some distance. Keep safe.

Get rid of him, why would you keep hanging in there with a man who is mistreating you and your animals. Let it go, and move on. You can do bad all on your own. Good luck and God bless****

Time to move on. If "dunno" is his idea of how to answer such an important question, you're better off without him. No relationship can be healthy, much less survive, without respect.
