You can bleach your hair with a 40 volume developer because it will turn naturally black hair to a medium brown color, 40 volume developer is 40% peroxide and 60% water. All of this is that I have told you is true I am a hairstylist.

Try using Henna... it will not change the color of your hair, but will give you reddish-brown highlights over your black hair and it will look slightly brown in sun....

other than that, i dont know of anything else, that can change the color of hair without a chemical process.

I'm not sure if this works or not, but you could try natural highlighting your hair.

For this you could try to combine some lemon juice [not too much] with water so it will dilute. Spray it on to your hair evenly and just go out into the sun for a good amount of time. The acid in your hair should lighten your hair color.

Black hair cannot be lightened without color, and most of the time some amount of bleach. The bleach necessary would be minimal as you aren't going light, but it would still need to be used.

like, permanent color? theres always those temporary hair mousses like the one from herbal essences. or try putting lemon juice in your hair or beer, or chamomile tea and like, stay in the sun. it isnt good for your hair, but it creates natural highlights!
