i dated him n thought he was better as a friend, but not as a lover. he too wants me as a friend n not as a girlfriend, but everytime i talk to him about the kind of man i want in my life he takes the whole issue to himself. i'll give u examples. please, tell me what they mean.
me: i want my man to stand by me.
he: i am like that.
me: i want my man to be my devoted lover.
he: i am going to be devoted.
me: i think i like this dude.
he: is he nicer than me?
me: i am dating him.
he: i am happy for u.

He likes you and is waiting for his chance. He probably wonders why you dont choose him since he has all the qualities you seem to be looking for. Most times when guys stay friends with girls its because they are waiting for their chance.

Okay, he's trying to make you reconsider dating him maybe he has changed and want to show you that. When you say lover you mean sex and dont make sex the reason for ending a relationthip there is more things to offer, people change and in life you learn things. He still likes you and maybe you should cut communication off so he can get over you.....

He sounds confused. If he has said that we wants to stay friends, then don't think about what he says too deeply. Maybe he likes someone else and is really wondering what girls are looking for. And maybe he's wondering if he has these qualities.

he sounds kinda jealous to me....like he still wants you to be thinking about him and not this other guy. but, if you're totally and completely convinced that he doesn't like you anymore, then it's probably just him being a guy who doesn't want his ex-gf/good buddy to have another guy, when he knows it could be him
