just a note to malak... so then if you get into an accident are you gonna ask what faith the paramedic is, or when they give you blood are you going to ask what the beliefs of the donor are? How are "non-believers" works any LESS good then those of "believers"? "Non-believers" do theirs without the goal of heaven, while a lot of "believers" do it in order to add another check mark in their "i'm going to heaven" list.

Of course not. The Bible will stand for truth until the end of time. As far as an atheist doing good works, if they are truly atheist how do they know what is good or evil? What standard are they going by? And how many child molester have you heard of who were good members of their community ? It is true that the fool has said in his heart there is no God, Finish the scripture you started Romans 3:11- There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God...For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The Jews here were being taught that NONE were justified by the law, but all by God's grace. verses 24,25
The old law was nailed to the Cross. We are under the New Testament today.

I am an atheist lecturer enlightening students. I dont drink, smoke kill, steal or do anything bad. I am quite intelligent. not a fool. I got the sec best result in GRE and the best result in English. My IQ is 132. I taught chess to 568 people. I give out money to the needy. I am always penniless. I never lie. HUH.. I am an atheist..Even if there was a God I would extinguish it as soon as I see it. God, whether real or imaginary, is a very dangerous thing. STOP.....

No. We all were corrupt in God's eyes until we were born again Christians.
Scriptureman says:
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of WORKS, lest any man should boast.
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Who or what is good? Who can do good? Think about it, only God can say what truly is good, only He knows fully understands the meaning of the word.
His creation was good because He said it was, and when He made man (and woman), He said it was very good. But it did not last and man fell.
Goodness is a relative term, and we can only look to God for examples of it, we can not fully understand it, we can not attain it for ourselves, we can not measure it and we certainly can not live it. But with God's gift of salvation through Jesus, the standard that God has raised up for us all and by the power of His Holy Spirit we can at least seek to emulate His goodness.
What we must do, in faith is to repent of our sins, offer ourselves to God, believe in Jesus His Son and recieve by God's Grace, His gift of salvation in Christ Jesus, who lives and reigns at the right hand of Glory.
Isa 64:6
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. (KJV)

No, your understanding of what "good is" is not based on God's definition of "good", this is where you are in error.
You are trying to define good based on mans understanding and mans values.
Good in the bible is defined as being in the will of God and pursuing the purpose of your life His way, not our way. It is very possible to do work for God and to be outside of His will for you and the pursuit of the purpose of your creation.
Since athiests deny the existence of God this leaves them out of doing good works in God's definition of doing what is good and pleasing according to God. Being nice, cordial or polite to your fellow man is all well and good, in the eyes of man. Samson was considered good by God and he was none of these things, however, he did pursue the purpose of his creation for the majority of his life. The purpose of his life was to be a thorn in the side of the Philistines. Despite all of the "faults" he seemed to have he was the good and faithful servant to the Most High God.

I can compare myself to Hitler and I'm a great person, however when I'm confronted with God's perfect law (the ten comandments), then it's obvious I'm not good at all.
make sure you check out that translation too . . .
No one is righteous—
not even one.
its just re-stating Romans 3:23
for all have sinned . . .
sin= breaking Gods law 1 John 3:4 (the ten comandments)
therefore no one is righteous
great question by the way.

Yeah, so if I go and give blood that can go on and save 3 people's lives in a hospital - did I just prove the bible to be false?
I think that's what it says - unless someone would like to make the case that giving blood is "not good."

No Not at all. Even if you do not believe in God but do good, you are acting in a god like manner. To me this verse has nothing to do with your question exept what some fool thought.

NO!
The verse in fact says
"......There is none righteous, no, not one: in verse 10
Meaning there is none without sin.
Verse 12
.....there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Again meaning no one is without sin.
He is speaking of the Jews vs. the Genitles.....neither is better than the other.
