Rearrange the furniture to make it look bigger. Also if you can paint, use white or a brighter color to expand the ceilings and walls. Mirrors are great at fooling the eye and creating space. If its cluttered, get some stylish organizers to create space and add style. Hope this helps.

Seems contrary, but, get a big overstuffed sofa! A couple of large pieces will fool the eyes into thinking the room is large. A mirror on the wall is good. Hang mirrors and artwork slightly higher than eye level will draw the eyes up and make ceiling seem higher.

Use mirrors. Place them so they reflect doors and windows. If you can paint. Paint the ceiling pure white. Apply a dark color on the bottom of the walls and lighter shades as you move toward the ceiling. Use smaller furnishings and only a few.
