There are certain "basic" ones that are being commonly shared among the 30,000 or so religious denominations, although the rituals and practices vary accordingly.
For instance, many Christian churches have the sacrament of BAPTISM carried out in order to join their organization; another is the sacrament of MATRIMONY [or Marriage]; etc. However each denomination may have a slight difference in how these rituals or sacraments are performed according to their own specific traditions.
The common thread among these Christian denominations is the Holy Bible... although each may also have their own amplified interpretations of certain scriptural texts and verses, hence the differences in their teachings and doctrines from each other, albeit slight in many cases.
Bear in mind that the Protestant denominations are the offshoot of the Mother Church, the Roman Catholic Church, who first compiled the Bible around the 4th century, A.D.
Peace be with you.

There are none.
The emergent church(new age)is trying it's best to do that very thing.Church's like the one Rick Warren preaches at is constantly leading people down the wrong path. With church's such as his,no wonder people steer away from religion.
Baptism is the only thing that comes close to a real ritual. No it's not always that way in a Christian church, but some denominations think their correct. It's not for me or anyone else to decide.
But no,you do not have to perform some weird ritual,or walk through a maze,or pray a certain prayer. All you have to do is repent to Jesus Christ.Yes it's that simple.

Religious practices and rituals are as vast and varied as the different types of religions that are gathered under the huge umbrella called Christianity.

What do you mean by rituals etc. If you are speaking of Catholic Christianity than there are many. There are many facets of Christianity....Mormon, Baptist, Pentecostal, Gospel, Lutheran etc. All with different practices and traditions. In my opinion True Christianity consists on living a life filled with love, for yourself and everyone around you. Too bad it has turned into a "ritualistic" religion.

Hi there - now that's a HUGE question to ask!
There are specific practices promoted by every church, only unfortunately, they differ depending on the branch (Mormon, Catholic, Baptist, etc.) What they all have in common is a religious service, wherein one takes communion. Communion was taught by Jesus Christ and is a reminder that God made a new covenant (or promise) when he sent his only Son to bring a message of love to the world.
The principal practices of all christians are: benevolence, charity, seflessness, and witnessing love of one's fellow man. The backbone of moral teching is (you guessed it!) the Ten Commandments.
That's about it!

We don't have many rituals, except baptism and child dedication. We do partake of the Lords supper and pray and give an offering and or tithe. We also sing praise songs to God.

I don't know, I can't find them written in the Holy Scriptures?
Can anyone out there?
Isa 8:20 To the law and to the prophecy: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
This scripture explains it all.........
I know they ignore the commandments, statutes and laws that our Savior said that by every word from the Father does man live, or if they do them then they will have eternal life.

Latin Vulgate
Douay-Rheims Bible
The Apocalypse Of Saint John
Chapter 22
11 He that hurteth, let him hurt still: and he that is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is just, let him be justified still: and he that is holy, let him be sanctified still. 12 Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to render to every man according to his works. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. 14 Blessed are they that wash their robes in the blood of the Lamb: that they may have a right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city.
16 I Jesus have sent my angel, to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the root and stock of David, the bright and morning star. 17 And the spirit and the bride say: Come. And he that heareth, let him say: Come. And he that thirsteth, let him come: and he that will, let him take the water of life, freely.

a great deal of the rituals and practises...particularly catholics... were taken and derived from pagan practises, and this has been proven beyond doubt.....examin the holidays the christians celebrate. Christmas...practised for centuries before christianity as yule. easter.....prior to christianity...eoastre...a saxon goddess of spring... and the list goes on.
