Why does the Quran make the illogical claim that nobody can "make a chapter like" any in the Quran?

The Quran makes the following illogical boast:

Quran 2:23 'And if you are in doubt as to which we have revealed to Our servant, then produce a chapter like it, and call on your helper, besides Allah, if you are truthful.'

First, its hard to imagine anything easier than making something like another written document. After all, the challenge isnt to try and make something "like a planet". That would be hard indeed. Another way to say it is, if we cannot make something like a written chapter, in any book, then surely theres nothing we can make that is like anything!

You might have asked "how can we know if it is 'like' it?". Well, the Quran never says! So its a false challenge, as a matter of logic.

You see, the Quran offers proof of its God authorship with the phrase "and if you have ANY doubt". Ok, so heres some certain proof, what is it? The proof offered is a 'challenge' that cant be verfied EITHER WAY, and thus incapable of offering ANY PROOF IN ANY CASE... thus false.

Lets use the same logic as the Quran:

If you dont believe that every word I type is the written word of God, then try to type something LIKE what I am typing.

SAME EXACT LOGIC!

Thus, the logic is false and laughable, or Me and Muhammad are both Prophets.

Thats why i say read the context before showing your ignorance.

first telling you the context...that time when Quran was in the process of revelation , non believers objected that it was not from God and Muhammad has made it himself. so Allah challenged them to make a verse like that and prove that its man made book rather than God's words....so muslims just wrote one sentesne in arabic and challenged them to bring such idea with such beauty if they could.and they failed to MAKE it because it was not man made book rather it is word of God.and many of them later accepted islam just taking Quran a miracle.

Well you have just read the translation without context and shown up your ignorance by making such arguments....try try again But mark my words you will never prove islam as false religion by getting thumbs up from few of the ignorants of your nature.

His poetry was more realistic in Arabic grammar than any soura in quran.

The muslims will say its the Mass Media's fault and thats not true, we just don't "understand" Islam.

I think Western Muslims don't understand Islam, or they are just in denial.

Too much to read here--------but what struck me was another illogical---it is illogical to think that G-d came to earth in human form. There is no G-d but G-d, and Jesus is not G-d.
