If I were the US President, then I might have tried to avoid the Vietnam War. 1. Vietnam was too far away from the United States' mainland 2. War is not the only option to solve world's problems 3. No evidence that Vietnamese were going to hurt Americans in the US 4. It was too costly to start a large scale war, and the American people had to pay for it 5. The chance to win that war was minimized because North Vietnamese had the support of USSR and China at the time

I would say that it's mainly Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard Nixon who were involved in the Vietnam War. Ford was president when the war was coming to a close and troops were starting to get pulled out.

I love the people that start with Kennedy. You must be Republicans that don't know your history. I have a Viet Nam service medal that has the date 1960 on it as the start of the war. In 1960 Eisenhower was president. The Viet Nam war was started by a Republican and lost by a Republican, Richard Nixon. The other two presidents involved were Kennedy and Johnson.

Justin is right, but he missed Eisenhower, some troops were already in Vietnam by the time Kennedy took office. They were just there as advisor.

johnson, nixon, ford are the three when troops were there Kennedy was involved in the talks but not the intial stages of the war obviously he was killed before that
