If you are feeling it in your back when you are curling chances are the weight is too heavy in the first place and you're using your back to do the exercise. If you really want to get big guns without having to visit your chiro every week leave your ego at home and lighten up the weight.

You will then get rid of your back pain and you will see your guns grow just because they are doing all the work now.

Also a key tip is drawing in your abs by slightly pulling in your belly button. This will help create the pressure necessary to keep your spine stabilized.

Keep your back straight and lift with your knees. If the item feels a little too heavy, then get some help lifting it. Never lift with your back.

Make sure your posture is good: keep your back straight, whether lifting from sitting or standing position. When you lift from a standing position, make sure your legs r about shoulder width apart & bend your knees & come straight up--always keep your back straight. Until you get used to it, stand in front of a mirror, if posible, to make sure you have good posture.

Use a preacher curl bench, relax your neck, keep your chest up and shoulders back. Lower the amount of weight you are curling until you get the form correct. It's better to use less weight and do it correctly. Your muscles will benefit more and you won't risk injury.
