trim about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch every 6 weeks, or just make sure you don't carry split ends.

get deep conditioner treatment at the salon. this will include a deep massage of the scalp that will stimulate your hair follicles and promote growth.

also, find a nice shampoo and conditioner that supports you specific hair type and do deep scalp massages in the shower on a regular basis.

Get it cut/trimmed only when necessary to keep your hair healthy and looking stylish. It will depend on how quickly your hair grows, Some of my friends do this only twice a year!! Maybe that's how they keep such long hair. I get mine trimmed every two months and it's just above my chest. Hope this helps!

Trim it every 8 weeks to control breakage, otherwise cutting it has no effect on the speed of growth. You just don't want long hair with split ends!

I would cut it between 4-6 weeks so then the ends won't be split and it will grow much faster.
