In theory it's around 3500 calories to lose a pound of fat. Every so often people have good weeks where they lose a lot of weight but generally that's just water weight. It also depends on your metabolism for how many calories you should cut out of your diet. I have a friend who runs a lot and he has to constantly eat so he doesn't get too skinny. I don't know if you've seen the Oprah episode with Dr. Oz but he talks about how it's the waist measurement that counts. Also keep in mind muscle weighs more than fat.

On average, burn about 600-700 calories a day over what you are eating. So run 5 miles every day and eat about 1800-2000 calories and you will lose a pound in a week, maybe...

One pound is 3500 energy. To lose one pound of bodyweight (no longer purely water), you ought to burn 3500 extra energy than you're taking up. as an get mutually, in case you devour 1500 energy an afternoon and burn 2000 energy in line with day, it would take you 7 days to drop a pound (it really is a healthful time body for weight-loss).

It depends on how much you eat... In order to lose weight, you need to burn more calories than you eat. If you eat more calories than you burn, it doesn't matter how many calories you burn, you will still gain weight.

You are supposed to eat 2,000 calories a week, so i would recommend burning any calories you eat over 2,000. If you eat 3,000 calories, i would burn 1,000 calories.
