I was trying to decide what to give my roommate for his wedding present. After seeing this system called iMemoryBook I came up with a great idea. I convinced Derek and Wendy to write "He said...She said" stories about the way they met and the way they got engaged. Then using iMemoryBook's invitation system I sent invitations to all of his family and friends, in Utah, and all of her family and friends, in California. Then I watched the wedding memory book grow online. I was amazed at how smoothly this book grew with the iMemoryBook system. Over 70 people got online, viewed and contributed to the book. The final book had over 200 photos, 75 entries(memories), and 100+ pages, iMemoryBook helped me create something I wouldn't have even imagined possible.
THE BEST PART IS THAT THE 4 BOOKS I PRINTED ONLY COST $53 Dollars EACH!
I hope this helps.

Honey Mead wine. ( a sweet wine made from honey..tasty! ) It is said that a long time ago people used to give newly weds Honey Mead to drink for the first month after marriage... hence the modern term Honeymoon. details can be found with simple web search ... I've given this gift a few times along with a simple, elegantly written note with the history of Honey mead. You should be able to find it at a wine store or specialty grocer for under $25. You may even be able to locate a locally produced Honey Mead.

Don't listen to these people that give you a quota to spend. That's stupid. If you are down on your luck and all you can afford is $50; I'm sure your friend knows already, and will understand.
That aside. Here are my suggestions.
1) Get her something off of her registry. That way you will know she wants/will like it.
2) If you want to go Christmasy, you could get her a basket of items to decorate her home with at Christmas. You could also supply her with wrapping paper, etc. to wrap gifts.
3) If you call DisneyWorld mail order at 407-363-6200. There is a store down there called "Days of Christmas". I love it. You can pick out either a wedding ornament or Christmas ornament and then an artist can paint whatever you want on it.

If they're getting married at christmas time, I recomend getting them christmas ornaments, and maybe a red and green candle. When you get a new house and move on your own, trying to decorate for chistmas can be hard and expensive, so it's a thoughtful gift. Also they'll think of you each year when they decorate again!

You could get them a first christmas ornament with their names engraved on it as well as their wedding date. I don't know if you are into needlework, but there are numerous wedding records out there that you can make for them and it would be all the more special because you made it.

Hey, that's not cheap! She didn't say it was her sister or anything!
Does she have a wedding registry? If so, your best bet is to buy something off of it. It's great to give a unique gift, but in my experience couples like to get exactly what they want!

Go to Thingsremembered.com and get her something you can personalize
They have beautiful wedding frames that you could have personalized with her and her hubby's name and the wedding date or something..... Max you might spend $50 but i think you could find something nice for even less. Good Luck.
