I heard that recently, some kind of drug developed reduced the effects of THC significantly. Do you know of any particular readily available substances that I can buy at a drug store or supermarket that will reduce the effects of marijuana?

i'm assuming you are using it as a medicine not for pleasure since you want ot reduce the effects. eat. honestly that will kill the 'buzz' you get from it. it depends on what effect you are trying to lessen. also drink lots of water. it would help to know what you are trying to accomplish.

If you want to reduce the effects just don't smoke so much, or wait an hour or two until it wears off. There are some experimental drugs that will do it but you probably couldn't buy them and you wouldn't want to take them, anyway.
