I don't think the scar is deep. It's more of a surface scar. The scar is a discoloration that you can definatly see.

honey
milk and nutmeg
exfoliation (try aspirin and honey mask).... get some uncoated aspirin pills, drop a few drops of water on them and they will become soft. put some honey in, and rub on ur face. leave on for 30 min or so, and wash off w/ warm water and rub gently to exfoliate. if u do that once a month or so i think it can help.... :)

Baby oil, can be very useful on scars or stretch marks. Also if you have some Neosporin ointment. That will help alot as well. You can use all of these at the same time alternating products for the best fade of the scar...
Anything that moisturizes the skin most likely will decrease the size and appearance of a scar.
I hope this helps...
There are also products you can buy especially for scars, but you asked for something you had around the house.
If you need any more product information or help you can contact me. Just drop me a line and I will be more than happy to assist in any other way.
Have a great day!

I found this on a website and thought you might like to try it:

Date: Sunday, January 29, 2006

Jules
email_address: jgagnon3@uwo.ca
Country of Remedy: Canada

Ingredients: Vitamin E Oil Caplets
Instructions: I have posted on this forum several times before but I have a few things to add that I forgot to include. This time I hope I don't miss anything. This remedy works for new (red or purple) or old (white) stretch marks or scars. They will disappear, I don?t mean fade, I mean completely and totally disappear. I didn?t hear this from anyone, this is a remedy that I discovered on my own and tried it on all of my stretch marks because it had previously worked on getting rid of my scars. After discovering this I started telling friends and many of them have tried it and had it succeed. This really does work.To completely get rid of stretch marks or scars here is what you must do. You can purchase the vitamin E caplets at your local pharmacy, just ask your pharmacist for the most potent vitamin E caplets. It does not matter what brand you buy. I have also heard that vitamin E oil (in bottles) is now being produced in some areas, this will also work but make sure that the oil is as potent as the most potent caplet available.

Date: Friday, November 11, 2005
Time: 12:30 PM EST
Country of Remedy: USA

Ingredients: Any oil
Instructions: The very reason all of these remedies 'seem' to work is because you body is pretty good at fixing scars all by itself. Gently
massaging a scar helps it heal, it breaks up tissues bound together and promotes blood flow to the area. The oil is only reducing friction. You could use motor oil and get the same result.

So I guess from these two people, massage and use Vit E. Let us know if it works, Im going to try it too. I'd love to be rid of my scars!

i don't know if there is a 'quick' way to fade a scar. but after i had a bad car accident i had some terrible scars on my arm from where glass had went all the way into my muscle i had to have 20 staples it was horrible and i cried almost every time i looked at it for about a week. after it healed though i started using palmers cocoa butter and i also used shea butter along with all natural vitamin e. the scars are still there but not nearly as bad as they were.

You didn't specify what type of scar and how badly it shows.

Someone already mentioned nutmeg and honey, 1 teaspoon each. Apply to scar area and leave on at least 20 minutes before washing off. Do twice a week.

According to herbalist Angela Harris, you can fade scars by applying a light film of extra-virgin cold-pressed olive oil every day.
Be consistent and patient, but it does work.

Bio-Oil is a great option, but can take months to years of daily application to see really good results. A doctor can prescribe something's for you however. I spoke to my doctor about my self-harm scars and she wrote me up a prescription for a special medicated tape. Worked pretty well =]

Not that you have one around the house, but natural aloe from an aloe vera plant is the best thing you could possibly use to help diminish scar tissue.

Vitamin E. Just puncture a hole in a Vitamin E gel cap and squish a little out and apply to scar.
Honestly, it helps, especially if its still in the healing stage. Good luck!
