The way pathfinder said is not correct, when you type in the characters, we use things like Quick or New ChangJie, these are more popular ones. You don't need a special keyboard, because you can borrow a book that tells you what letters represent what and then you just type it in. As for the 'software' pathfinder said, you don't need it. Go to contro panel, then languages and then press language from the new window that pops up. Then click "Add" and find Chinese(tradtional) then you'll find it. I've just learnt how to type Chinese properly over the Summer and am already quite good, I don't have to refer to that sheet of paper as I can remember what is represented by each letter!

You have to have the right software and right keyboard characters.
