Acts 2:38 says we must repent and be baptised for the forgiveness of sins.
To be saved one must have their sins forgiven. According to the bible baptism is the point at which sins are forgiven. I can give you more scripture references if you need them.
God will be the ultimate judge, but based on what I read in the bible, I believe you need to be baptised to go to heaven. I say, if God asks us to do it, why not do it.
And in regard to the thief on the cross...Jesus had the power to forgive sins while he walked the earth.
As Romans 6:1-6 points out when you are baptised you are baptised into Jesus' death and raised to new life. No one could have been baptised into his death before he died.
Therefore, the thief was in a differnt spot than you. Don't be decieved by those who try to tell you otherwise. You must study the scriptures for the truth

This question is what led to infant baptism in the early centuries of Christianity, the fear that a child would go to hell if he or she died before adult baptism. It also led to theories of limbo, etc. The important question here is whether or not you want to have a saving relationship with Christ. Getting baptized out of fear of damnation is no way to go. In God, all things are possible--perhaps even salvation without baptism! Baptism is a sacrament: an outward and visible sign of an inward grace bestowed by God. That is, it's a sign of what's already happening between you and God.

No. Letting some old fart dip you in "holy" water does little to assist in an afterlife.
If you are very religious and interpret the Bible completely literally, then you contradict yourself. There is a HUGE body of evidence to support the conclusion that there were FOUR DISTINCT writers to the Bible (this is based on extensive literal analysis of style and so forth), who contributed various stores. It is widely accepted that they wrote the Bible centuries after the death of Jesus Christ, but completed it before 900 A.D. Notice how the Bible has different "versions"? That's because it wasn't written in English! It has been translated and re-written after translation.
The key to Christianity is being able to interpret the Bible. If you interpret it correctly, you understand that God doesn't just want you to blindly believe in him. What good does that do an omnipotent, all-powerful God? He could just MAKE you believe in Him if He wanted to. He wants you to understand that we are all human beings, and we all belong to the planet Earth. He wants us to take care of what is given to us, to be grateful for it, to treat others with respect and dignity, and to be generally good natured towards all of God's creations, no matter how good or evil they seem to us. What God wants is for us, out of our own free will, to sacrifice ourselves for the good of all living things. I doubt God wants us to jump through his hoops blindly; go to church every Sunday even if you sleep through it, get baptised even though your parents made you do it, read the Bible even if you don't act according to the interpreted teachings therein, etc.
In other words, be a good person, you'll be fine.

If you are born again of the Spirit of God, through Jesus Christ then no you will not go to hell. But water baptism is an act of obedience for the believer. An outward response to what has already occured within them. I would wonder wonder why a person wouldn't want to be baptized if they were a christian. It is such a powerful testimony to share with others.

Baptism does not bring salvation. Only those who are called, the elect, those who have been chosen out from the world are saved. Read Ephesians 1 and 2. Baptism is simply an outward action that displays an inward change. It identifies the believer with the death and resurrection of Christ.

The Bible says that the person who "believes and is baptised shall be saved" and that the person who does not believe is condemned. It does not say the person who is not baptised is condemned.
Baptism does not save; it is only a proclamation, a witness to what you say has already happened in you.
It is only Christ who saves.

As catholic, we now that the Baptism open the doors to Heaven, thats what we name Santificant Grace.
But we know that people from other religion could be saved, too if they trust in God and follow what their religion establish.
Only if you believe that baptism could save you and you reject to receive it, could be a reason, but not for been a nonbaptized.
You go to hell if you do not agree with God... (not only in words but witho your life)
P.S. Your look is pretty nice!

Nope, and for all those who say that you will are foolish... It is not found anywhere in the Bible that we have to get baptized in order to go to heaven.... Have you asked for forgiveness for the sin that you have commited, and tried to elliminate all the sin that is in your life? Have you gave your life to God and everything that you do, do you apply him to every aspect in your life, and study his word and follow it to the best of your ability? Well if so then your not going to a Devil's Hell regardless of what others tell you... God holds all the answers not man.

The thief on the cross did not get baptized and he was saved. We are not saved because we got baptized we are saved because we surrender to Jesus Christ who died to set us free. Once we surrender our next step should be to publicly show our love for Jesus by dying to self and having a rebirth in Christ - Symbol of Baptism
Experience of Salvation:
In infinite love and mercy God made Christ, who knew no sin, to be sin for us, so that in Him we might be made the righteousness of God. Led by the Holy Spirit we sense our need, acknowledge our sinfulness, repent of our transgressions, and exercise faith in Jesus as Lord and Christ, as Substitute and Example. This faith which receives salvation comes through the divine power of the Word and is the gift of God's grace. Through Christ we are justified, adopted as God's sons and daughters, and delivered from the lordship of sin. Through the Spirit we are born again and sanctified; the Spirit renews our minds, writes God's law of love in our hearts, and we are given the power to live a holy life. Abiding in Him we become partakers of the divine nature and have the assurance of salvation now and in the judgment. If you have truly accepted Christ as your Savior then NO! Baptism is not required to get to heaven.....that would be a work. Baptism is the first step in obedience to the Lord. It is an easy one to take and requires very little on your part. My thinking on this one is that if Christ has asked you to do something as easy and simple as baptism to show outwardly to all your decision. And you don't even do that......then how can he expect you to handle any other responsiblities along the way?
