well ive been jogging everyday for 2 miles @ 5mph... thats about 25 minutes. My goal is to do 2 miles @ 7mph. I tried going to 6 mph but i feel like i cant do it. Its too fast for me for running really long distances. what should I do? I max out my sprinting at around 9 or 10 mph

take it slowly. I once heard an olympic swimmer speak and this was his plan.
For a year he had to swim an mph faster. So every day he increased by several fractions until he finally got there

Gradually increase the time of the running, that way you run more miles and work out your heart more. You speed up naturally if you do that because it does get easier. If you just limit yourself to one mile today or something like that, it will take forever.

Just run for a predermined amount of time, I would say 30 minutes given where you are at now. Next week, increase that by two minutes until you get to 60 minutes. Your speed will increase. I promise. Mine did. I went from a 15 minute jog mile to a 7 minute jog mile with that philosophy. Right now I am working back from injury induced laziness, so I am at a 10 minute mile...but honestly timing, not distance, works.

Quite honestly, I think you should add some walking to your routine or replace your 2 miles with a brisk walk, and do 1 mile jog. Two reasons: By varying your routine with blasts of "fast" to "slow" and back, your metabolism will stay up longer blasting away fat. The other reason will hit you in a few years: your joints take a beating (4 lbs. of pressure per body-weight pound, for each step when you walk) jogging/running. You will definitely wear out your knees quicker and you're more prone to injuries. I think you are a real inspiration, honey! Godloveya and keep up the good work!

Start walking 2 miles and do it 7 days a week. You will burn fast fat by just walking 2mph for 2 miles. Calories are about 3500 and it equals 1 lb of fat. So walking for one week will help you lose half the lb. of your weight per week.
