Supposedly Abraham was going to do it until God intervened. Why doesn't God intervene when parents kill their children today? Could it be because God isn't there? Oh, I've got it! It's because Jesus died and now we play by different rules! Christians have a made up excuse for every argument against them.

Abraham knew that his son was going to live- actually read the story- Abraham told Isaac that God would provide. Abraham knew the promise God gave to him that he'd have a people from Isaac- so if God brought Isaac back to life or stopped him-Abraham knew God would provide. It still took faith-which was the step- but he knew God had control. God doesn't intervene-all the time- when parents kill their kids because we have free will and if He did intervene then we'd all be pawns instead of people. So God is there- working in the background to change peoples hearts today- and the same rules apply then as it does today. This isn't an excuse-just the facts sir.

First off, the only time that happened was with Abraham, and the people today who use that defense basically make me ill. God doesn't tell people to kill innocent children, and any "voices" these crazy people hear are obviously not from God. Actually, I think they're fully aware the voices aren't from God, but they gotta use something in their legal defense, right? Can't just go to court and tell them that they just wanted rid of the little nuisances, so like so many others, they try to blame it on God or their mental diseases. Evil is evil, there's no excuse for it.

What God did to Abraham was to give him a lesson that it is NOT nice to sacrifice things.

God don't intervene when parents kill their children because He gives them a choice and already gave them a lesson using Abraham as an example.

God spoke to Abraham to tell him to kill his son that is true. God then intervened......again.....true. But the differance between Abraham and the parents the kill their child is......Abraham was listening!

God intervened with Abraham because he was the one who was testing Abraham.

He doesn't intervene today, because he's not the one doing the testing.

I'd suggest Satan as the source.

Gee, maybe it's because they are being decieved and they belong to a cult. I'm think I'm getting the message that the aliens will be coming tonight. Use your head. Abraham was spoken to by verbal revelation. Not like today.

I feel sorry for you.
It is because God is not telling those people to kill their children. It is Satan who wants to destroy mankind, and corrupt their immortal souls. Thankfully God has never asked me to sacrifice my children to him. Very doubtful he ever will. Especially when you consider the fact that he has already sent his son to die on the cross.
